- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum aligned with state standards for students in grades 6-12.
- Provide individual and small-group instrumental lessons to elementary students to build musical foundations.
- Provide engaging instruction in various aspects of music including music theory, instrumental techniques, music history, and appreciation.
- Plan and lead rehearsals for school band ensembles for the elementary, junior high, and senior high students.
- Organize and facilitate performances, concerts, and recitals throughout the school year working with the band boosters.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to explore their musical abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and achievement.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in music education, and integrate innovative teaching strategies into the curriculum.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and stay updated on changes in education policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Instrumental Music, or related field.
- Valid PA teaching certification in Music (K-12) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching music at the K-12 level, including proficiency in conducting rehearsals and directing performances.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, colleagues, parents, and community members.
- Passion for music education and a desire to inspire students to develop their musical talents and appreciation.
